The global Marxist politician-run U.N. IPCC/WEF octopus of anti-Big Oil leftists is trying to eat the world by weaponizing the fake greenhouse effect. Global warming is good not bad, and more not less CO2 and H20 need to be pumped into the atmosphere to create more living space and food supplies.

Is Earth getting warmer because of global warming from the Sun?
My reply:
Sorry, but the temperatures in the troposphere and stratosphere have nothing to do with the temperatures at the Earth’s surface. Only the Sun heats the surface, and the process of radiation and convection take it away to the infinite heat sink of space. On the Moon there is no atmosphere, so there is only radiation. On the Earth the gigantic atmosphere substitutes convection for most of the radiation, taking the heat away via convection, but slowly, because like anything with mass it takes time to heat or cool. But take it away it does, so any attempt to attribute rising surface temperatures to CO2 is moose hockey. Once surface heat has warmed the air, it gets lighter and rises, just like hose bubbles in an aquarium. The basic laws of Thermodynamics prohibit heat from flowing from a cooler to a warmer body, or from heat not degrading in quality at each transformation. There is no dragon in the sky. Like a poor street urchin freezing while viewing rich fat warm restaurant patrons through the window, no matter how much heat is in the atmosphere it’s never going to heat the surface back up, but on the contrary, the surface just keeps getting cooled more and more as convection does its work. The claimed itsy bitsy 0.1C global annual avg. warming per decade in the past are based on strained artificial equations that have no reality, and projections of coming Armageddon based on them are worthless. In short, CO2-driven global warming is a hoax perpetrated for political-economic reasons, and intelligent people can’t buy it. The record cold winter we’re now having doesn’t jive with the hoax.

My reply:
We will need to gets some toupees with brains in them. :) Haven’t you figured out by now that “global warming” is a hoax based on manipulating artificial “global temperatures” that have no reality outside a computer? Nature knows nothing of such a made-up statistic, and to use it as an indicator of the health of Earth is junk science. The reason for the hoax is to extort trillions to save us from it, with the real goal being to destroy the fossil fuel industry and capitalism itself. Mere weather can be twisted to look like climate change at will in a no-lose proposition where hot and cold spells are equally useful. That’s why it is a favorite with global Marxists in the U.N. and its IPCC.
It is all based on the logical fallacy called Reification, the Fallacy of Misplaced Concreteness, a mental process by which someone comes to believe that an abstraction (idea or concept) is a material, physical object in the real world. Cambridge geologist Mike Hulme observed that many people are obsessing over global temperatures while not realizing that they are abstractions and not things to be feared.
“Global temperature does not cause anything to happen. It has no material agency. It is an abstract proxy for the aggregated accumulation of heat in the surface boundary layer of the planet. It is far removed from revealing the physical realities of meteorological hazards occurring in particular places. And forecasts of global temperature threshold exceedance are even further removed from actionable early warning information upon which disaster risk management systems can work.
Global temperature offers the ultimate view of the planet—and of meteorological hazard—from nowhere.”

What do climate scientists wish people knew about climate change?

My reply:

Let’s reverse the question. CO2 helps cool the Earth’s surface, not warm it. The so-called climate scientists confuse the air in the troposphere with the air near the surface, which is where weather is. What happens way up high can’t change the temperature of the surface other than to cool it more via wind and precipitation. The only thing that warms the surface is the Sun. Warmed air rises via convection, taking heat with it, and releases it eventually to the infinite heat sink of space. Thanks to the atmosphere, thermal radiation from the surface is superseded by convection, which climate scientists don’t ever seem to ‘get’. Take the Moon for example. It has to radiate all the heat, and since that process is fast, its temperature swings between extremes. The atmosphere has mass, thus it takes time to heat and cool, or more precisely, time to remove heat from the surface, and more time to release it to space. If the surface could somehow radiate all of its heat to space rather than convect it, and the CO2 in the atmosphere blocked and absorbed it all, that would only make it rise faster, like smoke in a chimney. It will never become a Dragon in the Sky the way climate scientists think, sorry, there’s no second Sun up there threatening to bring Armageddon.
In short, what smart people like moi know that climate scientists don’t is that the Earth isn’t a Greenhouse, it’s a Stovepipe, and CO2 is a boogey man and scapegoat used by leftists to try to shut down the fossil fuel industry that has brought us a comfortable lifestyle, filling them with hate since it’s one of the biggest successes of capitalism. What a colossal waste of so-called climate scientists educated beyond their intelligence to accept their moose hockey, whose only solution is to tax the people for trillions and end capitalism in order to slay an imaginary dragon, when even a fraction of that would help solve real problems like pollution, hunger, etc. Ironically, CO2 is good not bad. It’s plant food, and the more we can get into the atmosphere, the more the planet will green to feed the teeming billions. We need 1200 ppm not the current 400, and the climate will still be the same as long as the Sun itself doesn’t change, which no amount of tax money can do anything about.

How does methane contribute to global warming via positive feedback?
https://www.quora.com/How-does-methane-contribute-to-global-warming-via-positive-feedback
My reply:
Positive feedback? Sorry, but the so-called greenhouse warming theory is wrong because it assumes that just because CO2 and methane in the atmosphere block and trap infrared energy, they don’t really do that for long, they reemit it like a radio transmitter somehow, and send it all back to the surface in just as useful a form as they received it. This is bad physics, because the absorbed energy turns into kinetic energy, causing the way-outnumbered CO2 and methane molecules to bump into the surrounding O2 and N2 molecules and lose their heat, and those just heat up a little, losing their heat via the Wien Displacement Law, emitting very weak infrared radiation at even longer wavelengths.
Not only that, but the inverse square law reduces any radiation reaching the surface.
CO2 is only 0.04% of the atmosphere now, and even if doubled it would be less than 0.1%, which might heat the atmosphere some but can’t heat the surface any, sorry. Methane (CH4) is an even smaller fraction, .00017%. The atmosphere goes up for miles, and the truth is it’s function is to cool the surface heat deposited by the Sun by mainly replacing radiation (like on the Moon) with convection, and eventually dissipate it into the infinite heat sink of space, with its sheer mass keeping it from convecting the heat away instantly like radiation would, moderating the surface min/max temperatures within liveable limits, but never heating the surface more than the Sun did in the first place. On top of that, any heating of a gas in the atmosphere causes it to expand and cool adiabatically, which has already happened as it rose from the surface carrying heat away by convection. And even if a large mass of the atmosphere warmed from the Sun itself, CO2 and CH4 would absorb and block it from reaching the surface, heating the atmosphere not the surface, and the warmed trace gases would more likely cool the surface more by causing wind gradients that bring winds, rain, hail, and snow. Sorry, neither can cause a global runaway warming, although stormy weather is a possibility.

What Is the Antarctic Volcanoes Project?
It's too bad the current brouhaha about CO2 is so narrowly focused. So what if a higher concentration in the atmosphere raises global average temps? If higher temps were accompanied by increased atmospheric moisture, it would even out around the world and turn it into a paradise planet, greening the deserts so that the teeming billions could be fed. Cold temperatures are inimical to life, not a goal of life.
Too bad, it might take a lot more CO2 than you think to really change the global weather, but not because it has any control over Earth's surface temperatures. In fact atmospheric CO2 can't melt an ice cube with its 15 micron main radiation wavelength that has a Planck radiation temperature of -80C, colder than dry ice (-78.5C).
Why do they call CO2 greenhouse gas? Because plants breathe it, and they pump it into greenhouses to help them grow and thrive. Polar regions and deserts look good in postcards, but who wants to live there. Meanwhile global pop. is zooming, so obviously the real answer is to pump more CO2 and water vapor into the atmosphere to turn the Earth into a greenhouse, turning deserts both hot and cold into lush green crop-growing regions like 35 million years ago when the avg. global temp was 88F and the CO2 level was 1K parts per million (vs. 415 PPM today). So what if we lose some desert polar regions and even some yummy coastline, the adjustments will be inconvenient but temporary, but I prefer shirt-sleeve weather to Frosty the Snowman. How many arctic animals can't adapt to a warmer climate? What animal needs to live in ice and snow and wouldn't like a vacation to Tahiti? They can lose the fat, hair or feathers.
The real question is can we make and keep the global CO2/H20 levels high enough, and for how long? Sooner or later mass global starvation will become unstoppable if world pop. keeps climbing, and this is the way to forestall it, if we act soon enough. Don't give me them Malthusian objections, give me some CO2/H20 solutions. I like a paradise Earth in the possibility window.
So, while the world is debating the horrors, extent or lack thereof of global warming caused by CO2, let's engineer the CO2/H20 solution to making the Earth a warm temperate planet from pole to pole with no deserts or ice wastelands, allowing vastly more food to be grown and turning poor nations rich. I DON'T mean a planet with wild swings between super-hot summers and super-cold winters, but one that is warmer than now everywhere, but moister and greener, with a giant network of plant life helping to avoid extremes. Since CO2 and water vapor are the keys, and the paltry amounts in the atmosphere need to be increased as soon as possible to turn deserts green and get the warming process off to a good start, but the new levels have to be maintained permanently, I'm looking to remote Antarctica (which is really a sea) as the most promising source for unlimited CO2 and water vapor generation, given that noxious emissions (sulfur dioxide, etc.) can be controlled.
This blog is for posting news on the world climate situation, scientific and political, along with my own articles. I'm sure it will start out with hardly any interest or followers, but I'm hoping that it will attract the smartest people eventually and in the end I hope for a global consensus that if it can be done it must be done.
So what is the Antarctic Volcanoes Project? My working idea is that an international effort to reactivate as many volcanoes in Antarctica as possible in an ideal location for distributing the CO2/H20 will produce the best and most cost-effective results. Sorry, one-worlders, it won't give you a license to override and control any country's economy, but if your country is suffering from lack of food you will be too busy expanding farming to care. Hence until I think of or hear about a better way to increase world CO2/H20 levels, this is my pet project. If you are a scientist, please climb aboard my AVP Express and let's make it happen.
It Would Be Funny If It Were's So Sad
It would be funny it weren't so sad, but when the scientists say "greenhouse gas" they are using a malaprop. It should be greenhouse GLASS, because that's why a greenhouse stays warm, by glass walls stopping convection of air and trapping heat. Yes, CO2 is pumped into greenhouses, but not for heating purposes, only to help plants BREATHE. So the whole sucker's game of "greenhouse gas" must truly be for the purpose of stopping more vegetation from growing and feeding the teeming billions. Is that their true goal? Another blip on the horizon is the promise of melting permafrost releasing gigantic amounts of CO2 from the Arctic not Antarctic sector. Let's hope we at least get some more good CO2 that way.
