For CO2 to absorb Infra Red (IR) wavelengths from the earth, doesn't the earth have to be the temperature that produces those wavelengths? For instance, to absorb 2.7uM IR, the earth's surface has to be the temperature that emits that wavelength? Doesn't Kirchhoff's law of thermal radiation come into play? - TL Winslow
