My reply:

The best way to view the Moon is to take a telescope and hold the wrong end to your eye. When the Moon appears smaller rather than larger, we'll fix it by affixing another telescope pointing the right way to the first telescope's eyepiece. Too bad, it will now be fuzzy, but just pay us big bucks for a fancy signal processing system and we'll clear the image up. Don't listen to those telescope deniers who want us to start out by putting the right end of the telescope to your eye in the first place :)
