This Amazon fires scare isn’t legitimate, it’s just the latest hoax from the globalist Marxist U.N. IPCC that has been peddling the CO2 greenhouse warming hoax for 30 years in an attempt to foist world government by claiming they need total control to save us. They’ll bend over backwards to blame every human-caused catastrophe, not on specific humans and their irresponsible actions, but on apocalyptic “global warming”, making it seem like an evolving Armageddon, with the punchline that the fossil fuel industry along with Western capitalism have to be shut down so that Marxist social and racial justice can be achieved. In this case land-clearing fires aren’t blamed on farmers trying to make a living, but on the CO2 emitted by Western civilization, a ridiculous non-sequitur. The Y2K scare was based on the utterly dumb level of programming art back in the 1970s-90s that thought of computer memory as dear and every byte to be saved, thus they kept the date only as two decimal digits, e.g., 75 instead of four, i.e., 1975. Beginning programming manuals all seemed to teach this trick. Too bad, the U.S. govt, full of even dumber managers purchased vast software systems that it fielded for decades, long after the original programmers disappeared, and when the 1990s rolled around somebody noticed that when the year 2000 rolls around those 2-digit dates will rollover from 99 to 00, perhaps causing catastrophic failure of their systems when two dates are subtracted, e.g., letting all prisoners out of their cells because they served 100 years of their sentences, or worse, causing two airliners to crash in the sky because they were supposed to be nowhere near each other, or even worse, causing the fail-safe on nuclear missile silos to go off after thinking they received no signals for 100 years. By the time the problem was discovered, the Millennium Bug was 100 times more expensive to fix, what a boondoggle for programmers, imagine all the padded overtime, but there was no Y2K apocalypse, so it’s all water under the bridge now. The blindness was compounded by evangelic Christians who preached the end of the world in 2000. If they had thought ahead, every programming org. should have had a Y2K Compliance Office that issued Y2K Compliance Certificates for every software project slated to be used on or after the year 2000.

This article is so lame. CO2 only absorbs surface IR in a narrow band around 15 microns, which is in the far infrared, which mainly heats only water. This narrow band contains only 8% of the total, and since any material emits radiation along its Planck temperature power-wavelength curve, not at the wavelengths it absorbed energy at (witness the ground absorbing visible light and emitting only IR radiation after reflecting some visible light), even if IR readmitted all its IR energy straight back to the surface from 1 inch away, it would cause its Planck radiation curve to shift to a higher power curve and cool faster, something which can’t runaway via a feedback loop because the gain is way less than 1. Worse, the radiation is supposed to be governed by the inverse-square law dispersing in all directions, and way less than 8% can ever hit the surface.
The reflection of visible light doesn’t take collisions among surface molecules to trigger, but is instantaneous, a big difference.. If the CO2 AGW hoaxers claimed that CO2 reflects IR they’d at least have a little credibility, but alas, they show lab demonstrations of tubes filled with CO2 warming more than tubes filled with plain air, when if CO2 reemitted radiation the CO2-filled tube would remain cool and heat a nearby slab of concrete or tank of water.
Unless the air near the surface is hotter than the surface, which isn’t likely because of convection, which pushes warmer air up and colder air down, there can be no net heat transfer from the air to the surface, the presence of CO2 notwithstanding. The CO2 AGW hoaxers keep claiming that increases in atmospheric CO2 cause corresponding increases in surface temperature (yearly avg. at least), not just more comfortable temperature swings, which doesn’t compute, but they don’t care because it’s a hoax and the cash registers are ringing. Too bad, your article seems to half-swallow the hoax.
As to collisions in the sky, what makes you think that every collision by a CO2 molecule causes it to burp its surface radiation instead of transferring kinetic energy to what it’s bumping into, if it’s hotter because of its absorbed IR? The atmosphere is always trying to equalize its temperature, and heat cannot flow from colder to hotter, therefore why would hopped-up CO2 radiate anything after it bumped into colder air and cooled down?
As to the blanket effect, CO2 has no role in it. Not global temperature, global yearly avg. temperature. You can’t stick a big thermometer up the Earth’s butt like a baby, sorry. This artificial computer-generated quantity based on a ton of temperature measurement stations with questionable data was created solely for use by the globalist Marxist U.N. IPCC to foist the hoax that CO2 is evil, and the only way to save the world is to dismantle the fossil fuel industry and capitalism with it. What would be funny if it weren’t so tragic is that NASA only claims a total of 0.8C warming since 1880, an amount too small for animals and plants to even sense.

Ironically, work by independent scientists has exploded the hoax for what it is, meaning that Big Oil was doing good not bad, supplying a safe needed beneficial product to consumers, and didn’t have to make a deal.

My favorite climate change skepticism Web site is Principia Scientifica, er, Principia Scientific, an old-time eclectic science site with a free forum welcome to all the scientists shut out by the closed-minded bigoted academic establishment. Unlike the academic journals, it has a free comments section where anybody can take on anybody, how refreshing. No matter how much the pro-AGW sites slam it as not being “peer-reviewed”, its free forum shows its honest intentions, and no need to mention, the pro-AGW agitprop artists are scarce to almost non-existent there. It’s like a return to the heady days of Galileo and the Roman Catholic Church, doing the only real work in climate science today. I never miss an issue.

No, and nobody does or can. Sorry, humans can only cool the climate via dust clouds raised by nukes, etc., and I haven’t heard about any global thermonuclear wars recently. Only the Sun can warm the climate, not CO2 like you’re probably thinking. CO2 doesn’t “pile heat” in the atmosphere then mysteriously send it back down to the surface to cause global warming. It does nothing except feed plant life and keep all life going.
